Meet the Team
Dugald R. McMillan IV, DMD
Dr. McMillan is a second generation dentist with a passion for helping others. He is originally from the small town of Woodland, Alabama (population 200). After growing up helping at his father’s dental practice, he attended the University of Montevallo and then completed his dental degree at UAB in 2009. Dr. McMillan is married to his wife Natalie.
After graduation, Dr. McMillan opened a successful practice in the Birmingham area where he practiced for four years. The love for the country lead him to sell his practice and move to Northeast Alabama. While driving through parts of Alabama searching for the perfect location, Dr. McMillan and Natalie immediately fell in love with New Hope. After speaking with many residents, the compassion felt in the New Hope area among everyone to help each other reinforced the decision to begin their new life here.
Dr. McMillan believes in conservative treatment with an emphasis on prevention. He believes that everyone is entitled to a beautiful, healthy smile, and he works hard to educate each patient about the role of preventive care in oral health. According to Dr. McMillan, he “enjoys changing lives with comprehensive dentistry, as well as seeing patients become truly happy with their smile.” In the past, patients have shown great emotion following a dental restoration, which according to Dr. McMillan “makes all of the hard work pay off.”
Dr. McMillan is committed to continuing education and remaining aware of the latest changes and advancements in dentistry. Quality of care and patient comfort are and will always be the number one priorities at New Hope Family Dentistry
Dr. McMillan and Natalie are residents of New Hope as well, and when they are not at the office, they can be found spending time with their daughter Kate.
